On Friday, August 15th 99.7 KY held their 16th Annual KY Elvis Parade. Held each year on the Friday closest to 'transistion day', the event has grown from its humble beginnings to one of the largest events of its kind.
This year's Grand Marshal was October 2002 Playboy Playmate Teri Harrison (as I understand it, just about the only one to have both the cover and the centerfold in an issue). She was as gracious as she is lovely.
The day starts at the 99.7 KY studio with the Grand Marshal, TV stations, and at least one Elvi. After that the festivities move downtown to 12th & Central - Barney 'Elvis' Plaza - for the pre-show, the parade, the stage show, and the big event. This year's big event was scheduled to be Bobby Lee jumping his motorcycle over five cars and Priscilla. Unfortunately Bobby Lee broke his leg the night before (actual quote 'every now and then you break something') so one of his associates filled in, jumping four cars (still with Priscilla on the hood, of course).
