The United State's only national WWI memorial, the Liberty Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri was rededicated in an impressive ceremony on Saturday, May 25th, 2002. See the memorial's website at http://www.libertymemorialmuseum.org
Guests included Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Brigadier General Richard B. Myers (a Kansas City native), assorted foriegn dignitaries, almost the entire Kansas and Missouri Congressional delegations, a number of prominent Kansas City citizens, and a whole lot of ordinary folks.
The day's events wrapped up with a spectacular fireworks show by the Wald Fireworks people.
