Falls Park

I'm originally from Sioux Falls, SD and still have family there so I head up every now and then.

Sioux Falls is located on the Big Sioux river, right where there's a series of falls. Yes, that is where the name comes from. Originally an industrial area (1800's - industry powered by the falls) it's now a nice park - click here

When we went up for Easter, 2008 the river was in flood and the Falls were looking incredible. We took some pictures, one of which wound up in my 2009 calendar. That lead to questions about the falls which lead to this page.

Be sure to click on the thumbnails for the frame by frame gallery. On the larger images you can see the people and get a sense of scale. Most of the falls are about 20 feet high but a couple are closer to 60 feet.
